Construction Award Rates WA 2026: What You Should Be Earning

Construction Award Rates WA 2026

The Building and Construction General On-site Award (MA000020) sets minimum pay rates. Most Perth construction workers earn above award — but knowing the minimum protects you from being underpaid.

Current Minimums (2026)

CW1 (labourer): ~$27-$29/hr. CW2 (skilled labourer): ~$28-$30/hr. CW3 (tradesperson): ~$30-$33/hr. CW4-5 (advanced tradesperson): ~$32-$36/hr. These are MINIMUMS — market rates in Perth are 20-60% above award due to the labour shortage.

Penalty Rates

Saturday: time and a half first 2 hours, double time after. Sunday: double time. Public holidays: double time and a half. Overtime (weekdays): time and a half first 2 hours, double time after.
